Micron-level repeat accuracy with background suppression (BGS) CMOS laser sensors
The ZA-B Series is a background suppression (BGS) laser sensor designed for high-accuracy detection.
It provides a cost-effective alternative to laser displacement sensors, enabling reliable detection of thin and transparent objects.
With micron-level repeat accuracy, improved detection performance, and enhanced operability, the ZA-B Series enables easy high-accuracy detection.
Industry-first* photoelectric sensor with guaranteed linearity
The ZA-B Series ensures high repeat accuracy and linearity.
With linear output, the OLED display directly represents distance.
Thresholds are set in distance units for accurate detection.

Repeat accuracy, Linearity, and Minimum detectable step
| ZA-BL60 | ZA-BL150 | ZA-BL300 | ZA-BL500 | ZA-BL1000 | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Repeat accuracy*1 〈Response time: 50 ms〉 |
0.01 mm | 0.05 mm | 0.2 mm | 0.5 mm | 2.0mm |
| Linearity (Converted value of linearity) |
±0.1% of F.S. (±0.03 mm) |
±0.2% of F.S. (±0.23 mm) |
±0.3% of F.S. (±0.8 mm) |
±0.7% of F.S. (±3.3 mm) |
±1.6% of F.S. (±15.2 mm) |
| Minimum detectable step*2 〈Response time: 50 ms〉 |
0.08 mm | 0.6 mm | 2.0 mm | 7.6 mm | 36.0mm |
*1. Peak to peak value of measurement in stationary state.
*2. Minimum detectable step equivalent to twice the hysteresis. Hysteresis equivalent to (linearity/2) + repeat accuracy.
For the ZA-BL60, the hysteresis is 0.04 mm, calculated as: ±0.1% of F.S. (±0.03 mm)/2 + 0.01
Reliable detection across various materials
Automatic adjustment of light intensity and exposure ensures reliable detection across a wide range of materials, including black, metal, and transparent objects.
It also maintains stable performance under short-range installation conditions and varying ambient light.
Advanced usability

-
Clear display
The high-visibility OLED display makes it easy to read text in any language.
Meanwhile, the intuitive menu structure makes settings easy to understand at a glance even without a manual, minimizing setup time.Conventional model:

Wide range of teach modes
Multiple teach modes, including Dynamic, 1-point, FGS 1-point, and 3-point are available for various detection needs.
Thresholds can be changed simply with a button.
-
Rice cracker passage detection
3-point mode
Three teach points (A, B, and C) are set, and thresholds (SL. 1 and SL. 2) are automatically defined at the midpoints between A and B and between B and C, enabling detection of B only.
Transparent bottle detection (Transparent 1-point teach mode)
By teaching the distance to the background and the light intensity, detection is performed based on changes in received light.
Selectable mounting pitch
-
Two mounting pitch options are available, including a 25.4 mm pitch compatible with standard photoelectric sensors.

IO-Link support
IO-Link is one of technology that connects sensors and actuators to Industrial Ethernet using digital signals to promote smart factories.
Measurement data is transferred as digital values, eliminating the need for analog input.
This provides improved noise immunity, reduces wiring and system costs, and enables predictive maintenance.[System overview]
