IO-Link Hub

UR-DS Series

IO-Link device that connects multiple standard sensors and actuators to an IO-Link Master. (IO-Link Hub)

  • IO-Link Hub connecting to an IO-Link Master, supporting Digital I/O, Analog I/O, and Temperature inputs
  • IO-Link Hubs that can support Digital Inputs or Outputs up to 256 points (16 channels x 16 points) *When connected to the OPTEX FA UR Series.
  • By connecting to an IO-Link Master, various I/O functions can be expanded.
This distributed configuration contributes to space-saving, reduced wiring, and improved noise resistance.
  • A new IO-Link Hub supporting RTD input is now available.
It allows temperature measurement using pt100 RTD sensors, with data transmitted and monitored via IO-Link communication.

Unit that converts 1 CH of IO-Link ports in IO-Link Master to 16-point of digital I/O

Expandable I/O up to 256 (16 x 16) points by connecting to IO-Link Master UR Series.

Digital input is Sink(NPN) / Source(PNP), all terminals are switched at once.

Digital output is Sink(NPN) / Source(PNP), each pin individually switchable (our original).

Unit that converts 1 CH of IO-Link ports in IO-Link Master to 4 CH of analogl I/O

Analog inputs are voltage (0 to 10 VDC, -10 to 10 VDC, 0 to 5 VDC, 1 to 5 VDC) and current (0 to 20 mA, 4 to 20 mA), switchable for each channel individually.

Analog outputs are voltage (0 to 10 VDC, -10 to 10 VDC, 0 to 5 VDC) and current (0 to 20 mA), switchable for each channel individually.

Unit that converts 1 IO-Link port to 8 channels of RTD inputs

Unit that transmits temperature values measured by RTD from -200 to 1,000°C via IO-Link communication.

Achieves high-precision measurement with an accuracy of ±0.3°C when the measurement range is limited to -60 to +300°C.

System configuaration example of IO-Link Master UR Series and IO-Link Hub UR-DS Series

The IO-Link Hub is connected with a 1:1 IO-Link connection to the upper-level IO-Link Master UR Series.
Converting IO-Link Master port 1 CH to Digital, Analog I/O enables the connection of existing sensors and actuators with wire-saving.

Equipped with 16 channels at the minimum cost.

I/O devices used to require various units such as AD converters depending on the interface, but with our IO-Link Master and IO-Link Hub enable the integration of I/O devices, resulting in significant cost savings.

 Expansion using UR-DS Series

  • What is IO-Link?

IO-Link is a technology that connects sensors and actuators to industrial Ethernet using digital signals.
Various types of data can be exchanged at the sensor level in line with the IIoT.

Easy sensor setup and status monitoring

  • Various types of data can be exchanged at the sensor level in line with the IIoT.
This means that batch sensor settings and I/O checks can be performed from the controller, and set-up information can be downloaded from IO-Link Master when replacing sensors.
An error display can also be set to indicate if the sensor is disconnected or otherwise malfunctioning.
As a result, equipment start-up / maintenance time can be reduced and sensor-level predictive maintenance can be performed.

  • System overview

  • Streamline equipment operation with IO-Link

Contributes to space saving in the control panel

By converting digital, analog devices, and serial device to IO-Link, no communication program is required and input devices can be combined into an IO-Link Master.
Sensors and actuators that do not support IO-Link can also be connected, enabling ON/OFF control.

Standard sensor cables can be used

  • A standard 3-wire unshielded cable can be used for IO-Link communication, eliminating the need for a dedicated communication cable.
