High-accuracy, surface-independent measurement

  • High-visibility OLED display
  • Equipped with the ATMOS image sensor
  • Stable detection not affected by color or material

Consistent, stable measurement of any surface

Designed for flexible integration into equipment, the CD2S Series delivers stable, reliable measurement for any surface conditions.
This laser displacement sensor features a high-resolution display for superior usability on the production floor.

High performance and advanced functionality in a remarkably compact body

The most compact in its class among laser displacement sensors with OLED display.*

  • The all-in-one design with built-in amplifier enables seamless integration into equipment and machinery.
    With an ultra-compact 18.4 x 33 x 46.4 mm (W x D x H) footprint, the CD2S Series fits effortlessly into space-constrained equipment, significantly reducing installation time and on-site workload.

  • Equipped with the ATMOS image sensor

The ultra‑sensitive ATMOS image sensor, used in OPTEX FA's flagship models, is now available in compact models.
CD2S Series delivers exceptional stability and fast responses even on challenging targets such as black or metallic surfaces.

  • IO-Link support

CD2S Series is OPTEX FA’s first compact displacement sensor in its class to support IO-Link.
Sensor status monitoring also helps improve predictive maintenance.

  • Stable detection not affected by color or material

CD2S Series maintains consistent, stable detection for a wide range of materials, including white ceramic, stainless steel, and black rubber.

From highly reflective metal surfaces to low‑reflectivity black targets, stable measurement is achieved without the need to change settings.
Accurate detection is maintained even on diffusely reflective surfaces, effectively suppressing the influence of ambient light.

  • Ultra-sensitive image sensor for enhanced detection performance

CD2S Series is equipped with the ultra‑sensitive ATMOS image sensor originally developed for OPTEX FA’s flagship displacement sensors.
The high-sensitivity receiver element drastically increases the received light margin, enabling high-speed processing.

Feedback-free high-speed shutter

  • With conventional image sensors, feedback control to the shutter could not keep up with sudden changes in receiving light levels caused by changes in workpiece colors, momentary inabilities to perform measurements would be caused, and response delays may occur.
With newly developed ATMOS image sensors, measurements can be performed without the need for feedback control thanks to an industry-first algorithm.
Because momentary inabilities to perform measurements and response delays have been eliminated, real-time measurements are now possible.

  • Advanced usability

The all-in-one design with built-in amplifier makes it possible to configure all settings directly on the sensor.
The high-visibility OLED display also makes it easy to read text in any language.
Meanwhile, the intuitive menu structure makes settings easy to understand at a glance even without a manual, minimizing setup time.
Larger buttons with a tilted top shape are adopted to improve operability.

IO-Link support

  • IO-Link is one of technology that connects sensors and actuators to Industrial Ethernet using digital signals to promote smart factories.
Measurement values can be obtained as digital values, reducing analog input.
This enables noise immunity, cost reduction, and predictive maintenance.

Predictive maintenance data

  • Various predictive maintenance data can be obtained as service data.
These data enable accurate determination of the optimal maintenance timing.
Data backup and restoration can also be performed quickly and seamlessly.
