Detection of double laminated film layers when picking and placing

A D4IF fiber-optic sensor and a dedicated NF-TW01 through-beam type fiber-optic cable are used to determine whether there is one film sheet or two. The infrared LED employed by the D4IF operates at a wavelength of 1450 nm, which is readily absorbed by the film, so even if the film or sheet material is transparent, it can reliably distinguish between one sheet and two.
