Product Calibration

The non-contact thermometers of OPTEX FA are calibrated based on our traceability system using a standard traceable to national standards.
OPTEX FA can carry out periodic calibration (for a fee) after purchase.
Annual calibration of the sensor head is recommended.
If you require calibration certificate documents, we provide a set of three documents: Certificate of Calibration, Report of Calibration, and Traceability Chart.

Precautions

Common precautions

  • Before using this product, read the instruction manual carefully.
  • This product is not clinical thermometer and therefore, cannot be used for medical purposes.
  • Sudden temperature change may cause incorrect measurement.
    Keep the thermometer away from sudden change in ambient temperature.
  • Do not install this product in any of the following locations.
    Locations with strong electric or magnetic fields.
    Locations subjected to corrosive gases or flammable gases.
  • Do not use this product with a voltage exceeding the rated voltage or AC power supply. When used with anything other than 12 to 24 VDC may cause a fire or damage the product.
  • Do not let the thermometer touch the object that is being measured.
    This product is a non-contact thermometer. Touching high temperature object may cause deformation of the meter, irreparable damage or incorrect measurement.

Measurement tips

  • For measurement of specular surface, such as a polished metal, consider to attach the optional black tape, HB-250, or paint the surface in a matte color.
  • Measurement through glass may be difficult.

Precautions for Laser Use

  • This product emits Class 2 visible laser beam that is compliant with JIS C6802 / IEC 60825-1 laser product safety standards.

    • Use the product in accordance with the labels for applicable standards are affixed to the product.
