Meandering control and width measurement of sheet material

The width of sheet material is measured with LS series 2D displacement sensors. The meandering amount and width can be determined by installing one sensor at the right edge and another at the left edge and then calculating the respective measured values using a PLC. The LS series is a diffuse reflective type, so measurement can be performed in a location where a through-beam type cannot be installed. This makes it possible to perform measurements in locations where previously sensors could not be installed.
