Sealing inspection of food cups

The CD2H Series laser displacement sensor is used to detect sealing defects in food cups. The lid of the cup is pressed by a cylinder at a fixed pressure and its height is measured. If a sealing defect is present, air leaks out and the cylinder sinks lower than under normal sealing conditions, allowing defects to be detected. A threshold value can be set, and pass/fail judgment can be performed using the comparator output. The built-in amplifier helps save installation space, and the IP67 protection rating ensures reliable operation on food production lines where exposure to water is expected.
