Maintaining tool parallelism on inclined sections of an object can be challenging for a robot. Using three CD22 Series laser displacement sensors enables feedback control that keeps the tool at the arm tip parallel to the object at all times by referencing three‑point distance measurements. Thanks to the CD22’s compact and lightweight design, the payload impact on the robot is minimal, and mounting at the arm tip causes little interference.
