Detecting seams in coils
The TD1 through-beam edge sensor detects the seams of coils wound around metal tubes. Detection is possible by monitoring the difference between the small diameter of the tube and the large diameter of the coils. With a repeatability of ±5 μm, the TD1 can ensure stable detection even if the coil results in only a slight difference in diameter size. In addition, the 10 mm measurement range means objects never leave the field of view, making detection possible even if some deviation occurs during tube transportation.
