Sheet material meander control/edge measurement
The TD1 series of through-beam edge sensors help prevent sheet material meandering.
Meandering during winding in the manufacturing process can result in abnormal quality, which causes wrinkles and elongation of sheet material.
Using two TD1 series sets allows for simple meander control at up to ±10 μm. Such high-accuracy meander control enables improved yield and predictive maintenance.

Roller gap measurement
The TD1 series of through-beam edge sensors measures the gaps between rolling rollers.
A greater gap means increased thickness, and a smaller gap means excessive thinness. Maintaining a steady gap ensures a constant rolling thickness. Control output also allows for thickness abnormalities to be output.

Measuring dimensions of the tire

Conventional laser displacement sensors had high power laser (laser Class 3R or stronger) to measure the black rubber surface which is not reflective though, CDX can measure it with laser Class 1 stably thanks to its high sensitivity.
Measurement of black workpieces with high measurement stability keeping safety of human eyes is possible.
