Detection of small workpieces and workpieces passing in unfixed locations
Introducing two distinctive products from OPTEX FA's Fiber-Optic Sensors product line.
For detection of small workpieces
with high-accuracy positioning
NF-TP01
Thru-beam type
φ0.25, Thin sleeve length: 5mm
Smallest detectable object:
φ0.02 mm gold wire

Adopting a φ0.125 mm superfine core, the NF-TP01 offers powerful detection of small objects. In addition, positional adjustment of the detection point can be easily performed when mounting thanks to the inclusion of a sleeve and the workpiece not being hidden by the tip even when approaching the workpiece for detection.

When a sensor with built-in amplifier has a wide effective light axis, small workpieces will not be completely blocked from the light, so the amount of received light does not change much, making it impossible to detect workpieces with slight misalignment.
With a Fiber-Optic Sensors designed for small object detection, the effective light axis is narrow, allowing for the light axis to be almost 100% blocked by the workpiece. This means changes in the amount of received light are large, ensuring stable detection.
For lines with unfixed workpiece passage locations

Spreading the light out in a band shape through a lens allows for near-collimated light.
Because there is little light leakage even when mounted in complex areas, stable detection is possible.
The NF-TS40 is particularly suitable for detecting subtle differences in light intensity.

Stable counts can be achieved even if the positions of passing screws are varied.

Using the D2RF-TAN analog output Fiber-Optic Sensors makes it possible to output an analog value that corresponds to the meandering width, allowing for easy meandering control.

The ability to detect with near-collimated light at 40 mm wide, detection of bags is stable even with mixed tips, heights, and shapes.
